Baker Tilly WM LLP - Focus in the Age of Distraction. Vancouver, BC. January 20, 2020

We live in the Age of Distraction. Sometimes referred to as the Attention Economy. The importance for focus has never been greater than it is today.  Or seemingly harder to achieve.

Your brain and your mind play a pivotal role in everything you do.  Think about it.  How well your mind is functioning affects your mindset and how you see things, your ability to learn, your ability to prioritize and make decisions, your focus, your moods, your creativity, your relationships, your energy, your discipline, habits and more.  And yet we hand over our attention unwittingly to things that don’t matter, when what we yearn for is calm focus, real connection and giving our time to what matters most in our lives.

This workshop provides participants with clarity on how technology and the urgent pace of the workplace are disrupting their focus and the tips and tools to overcome this.

In our fast-paced world that is constantly changing and evolving, we need skills for greater creativity, innovation, resilience and agility. All too often we can find ourselves sticking to what we know, limited by our old assumptions and existing beliefs, when what we need is to see fresh perspectives and explore new options. The ability to let go of old ways, to explore options outside of the norm and pivot rather than resist, not only produces better leaders, it produces better results and more engaging cultures.
